Call for new ISP Board Members:
Influencing Social Policy (ISP) is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. ISP is committed to advancing social work’s role in social policy, policy practice, advocacy, and policy education, and we are looking for individuals who are interested in contributing their leadership, expertise, time, and active engagement to this work.
ISP is a working board. Board members participate actively in the organization’s efforts by attending meetings, serving on committees or projects, supporting ISP initiatives, and helping advance the organization’s mission through meaningful service and leadership.
We encourage nominations of scholars, educators, students, practitioners, advocates, and policy leaders who are committed to strengthening the influence of social work in policy and public decision making. Individuals may self-nominate or nominate colleagues who would bring valuable leadership, insight, energy, and a collaborative spirit to the Board.
As part of its responsibility to build a strong and effective Board, the Nominating Committee considers the overall mix of experiences, expertise, institutional affiliations, career stages, and geographic perspectives represented among Board members. From time to time, the Committee identifies areas where additional representation would strengthen the Board’s collective capacity.
At this time, those areas include:
