Greetings Social Work Colleagues!
It is an incredibly important time for social work and democracy. ISP has been very active during this past year with activities to prepare and motivate social workers to play an active role in shaping the social policies that impact people, communities, and the country. The 2024 General Election will bring change, and we need to be ready to respond and act. We invite you to work with us to continue to develop ISP as a premier social work policy practice organization.
The ISP Board of Directors is excited to seek nominations for new board members!
ISP seeks diverse views to enlighten and improve our work! We are thrilled to invite nominations for the Board of Directors of our organization, dedicated to addressing policy and social work in today's rapidly changing world. In a time when global challenges demand innovative and compassionate solutions, the role of our board members is paramount. As we navigate complex issues such as voting and democracy, healthcare access, income inequality, and environmental sustainability, having an inclusive and dedicated leadership team is essential. We seek individuals who share our passion for creating positive societal change, bringing fresh perspectives and expertise to guide our organization toward a brighter future. Nominations are an opportunity to contribute to a better world through effective policy and social work initiatives. This past year we restarted our in-person Macro conference, contributed commentary to the Journal of Policy Practice and Research, began work on updating the CSWE-published Specialized Practice Curricular Guide for Macro Social Work Practice, and we continue partnering with various social work organizations on mutual goals
Our initiatives this year will include more opportunities to write policy centered pieces, creating podcasts and webinars, conference presentations and much more! And we will have Get-Out-the-Vote opportunities in Kansas City at CSWE!!!!
If you are interested in strengthening policy in social work through service on the ISP Board, please complete the Election Nomination Form below and email it or you can fill it out online here by our extended deadline November 15th, 2024.
ISP’s Governance Committee will review the nominations and an electronic vote by the general membership will take place in the first week of December 2024. ISP Board Members meet bi-monthly, the first Thursdays of the month. Election results will be made public mid-December. New Board members will begin their one-year terms on January 1, 2025.
